The stars are out in force for the 67th Annual Venice Film Festival – from our favourite screen darlings such as Michelle Williams and Natalie Portman to renowned directors such as Sofia Coppola – all have dressed to impress for screening of their, and their peer’s films.
Venice, a city often portrayed as a rather dramatic city steeped in mysticism, cult and religion, also tends to bring out the daring in attendee’s to the festival with stars opting for more eclectic styles rather than the traditional floor length strapless or one shoulder evening gown in red, green or black. Perhaps it’s in the water but all of a sudden stars seem to embrace the wild, wacky and sometimes just plain ridiculous – this year for example see’s Elisa Sednaoui, an Italian model-turned-actress, attended the premiere of film ‘The Black Swan’ dressed in what we can only guess is a homage to the film, as it appears to be made from a plucked black swan and sewn onto an over-the-top net skirt designed by by Alberta Ferretti, with bustier top with feather trim. Sedanoui appears as though she would look more at home on the banks of the Laguna Veneta rather than the red carpet.
One star who didn’t disappoint in her daring yet stylish dress was Natalie Portman, forever remembered as Padme from Star Wars, her dress echoed her past role, a ruby red Rodarte gown embellished over the shoulders in a v-neck with off the shoulder swept sleeves which lead down to further embellishment in a diamond on each side of the waist. Combined with her shiny, healthy brunette hair swept back into a bun, smoky eyes but on the whole natural make-up, Portman looked every inch the starlett.
To achieve her evening look; we’d recommend a good base foundation that will last such as Clarins Everlasting Foundation, brush and blend a little lip and cheeck stain in the necessary areas for subtle colour, we love theBalm Stainiac in Beauty Queen. For the eyes bareMinerals Tutorials: Rocker Eye is ideal to achieve Natalie’s sexy smokey eyes, combined with a lash-lengthening mascara such as blinc Mascara in Black .
