I opted for the Clarins Delectable Self-Tanning Mousse with SPF 15. I chose this one because I wanted a natural and gradual looking colour to my skin. When you are fair it is always better to use a gradual tanner to build up your tan instead of coating yourself in a deep bronzer that may look a little unnatural. This product also contains UV protection to prevent skin damage and signs of premature ageing.
I think there is a fine line in the tanning process. When done incorrectly or too much it can look blotchly and streaky but using a good exfoliator and moisturisers it’s hard to mess it up.
The tanning process:
Step 1. Exfoliate – I used Elemis Devils Mint Body Scrub with an exfoliating mitt. (A good one to use is The Natural Sea Sponge Company Bamboo Exfoliating Mitt)
When exfoliating be sure to pay particular attention to creases in the skin such as knees, elbows, hands and feet.
Step 2. Tanning – Clarins Delectable Self-Tanning Mousse with SPF 15 has a light white texture that absorbs into the skin quickly. It is made with Vitamin E to boost moisture and radiance of your skin.
When tanning (even with a gradual tanner) use a tanning mitt as your skin can look patchey if you use your fingers. The He-Shi Tanning Mitt is even washable!
Step 3. Moisturise – I used Decléor Nourishing Body Milk after 12 hours of tanning to protect and moisturise my skin. A lot Decléor’s ranges are made to suit sensitive skin which I love!
This self-tanner is perfect to gain some natural looking colour in just a few days and turns complexion to a golden tone. The Clarins Delectable can also be used on your face as well as your body so it’s a perfect choice to use and a brilliant time saver!
