As we approach the chilly month of November, it seems that the heating has to be turned up, and those woollen fabrics pulled on nearer to our skin. Add that to the water we wash with (which where we live is undeniably hard), and it seems my skin has GONE CRAZY!
With a scalp “on fire” I could hardly concentrate on anything else, and it even hurt to brush my hair. I reached for the Gorgeous website and typed in “sensitive scalp”, and was amazed at the selection I found. On further investigation I gave the following products a try, and I thought I’d share with you how they worked for me.
Kerastase – Resistance – Ciment Anti Usure
Kerastase – Kerastase Dermo Calm – Bain Riche Haute Tolerance
Redken – Scalp Relief leave in treatment
You could try Redken – Scalp Relief leave in treatment. This is equally as effective as the Scalp Chemistry, but infinitely easier to use. Whatsmore, you don’t find yourself having to wash your hair every time your scalp itches. Redken – Scalp Relief leave in treatment comes in a lovely discreet bottle with a pipette and can fit easily in your handbag. Just squeeze a few drops of Redken – Scalp Relief leave in treatment onto the sensive area, and you will feel instant relief.
Finally if you’re looking for a longer term solution and perhaps a more preventative method, you could try shampooing with Kerastase Dermo Calm – Bain Riche Haute Tolerance. I had used this years ago, but I’d forgotten how wonderful it is.
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been alternating
Kerastase Dermo Calm – Bain Riche Haute Tolerance with other brands, and my hair and scalp have felt altogether more human, and I don’t hit the ceiling every time I reach for the brush! For the conditioner, try Kerastase Ciment Anti-Usure, not only is it as gentle as silk, it does a wonderful job of conditioning the hair. Beautiful colour bottles too, but that’s just my preference. As my friends always say…..”don’t get her started on the packaging!!!”
I really hope these products will get you through the strains and pains of scalp irritation, there really is nothing worse. Don’t forget at Gorgeous our intention is to provide the beauty products YOU NEED, so email us and let us know if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

VERDICT – all the products listed above worked. In terms of my lifestyle though, it has to be said that the Redken (pipette bottle ) was the best. This meant I didn’t have to wash my hair every time my scalp was on fire, and it was instantly soothing.
