Hey Gorgeous Girls and Guys,
When I was getting ready for my New Year’s party the other day I noticed that my skin was really suffering from the combination of central heating versus cold icy winter air – you know how foundation is meant to smooth and even your skintone…well mine looked like a flaky snowstorm! – and I thought that perhaps it was time to treat it! Most skin types can look dry and dull, particularly in areas such as your forehead and cheeks, at this time of year, and depending on your skin type you should treat this ailment differently…
Dry Skin
Skin that is dry throughout the year may be a little sore as well as dry, so you will really benefit from a gentle, soothing product that also rehydrates dry skin. Clarins HydraQuench Rich Cream (50ml) £27.20 is both rich and soothing to counteract skin irritation and tightness; your skin will feel loosened and hydrated after use. For extremely dry skin use twice a day, morning and night.
Alternatively you may prefer a more naturally based product, Inlight Organic Night Balm (60ml) £34.00 currently with Free UK P&P, is 100% certified organic by the Soil Association. Designed with mature and dry skin in mind, the intensively hydrating properties of shea butter and jojoba oil provide the skin with intense nourishment and moisturising, whilst macadamia, carrot and evening primrose oils regenerate the skin. The active ingredient of lavender soothes, calms and restores the skin, providing an ideal habitat for cell regeneration.
Normal Skin
Even skin that appears balanced most of the year can suffer through the winter. Your nose cheeks and chin can feel normal but when it comes to applying foundation or powder to your face you notice dry flakes of skin, particularly around the chin contour and forehead. A simple test is to run a dry index finger over these areas, your finger should feel smooth and soft skin underneath, areas that feel a little sandpapery or rough need to be attended to and most importantly protected. PureLogicol Super Antioxidant Moisturiser (75ml) £31.50 and MD Formulations Critical Care Shielding Creme (30ml) £57.00 both take into consideration the outward superficial needs of your skin but also inwardly hydrate and nourish from within.
Oily/Combination Skin
Oily and Combination skin types require a balancing act to ensure that you don’t over dry or over hydrate the skin. However, a little known fact about oily skin is that it can be oily but dehydrated at the same time, this can lead to a leathery texture with a sheen. If this sounds a little like your skin type then try Korres Yoghurt Cream for Oily and Dehydrated Skin (40ml) £17.62. It helps to balance the sebum producing levels in your skin whilst feeding the skin with vital nutrients which tackle soreness and irritation.
For something a little more luxurious why not try La Biosthetique Methode Clarifiante Purete (50ml) £22.10 currently with Free UK P&P. This moisturiser is light enough not to weigh down your skin but nourishing enough to help balance your skin. Natural plant extracts work to normalise disturbed sebum production, whilst inflammation is reduced thanks to the antibacterial action of lemon oil, lavender oil and liquorice root extract.

Hey Gorgeous girls and guys,
Ok so I was down at the Gorgeous Salon the other day, having my highlights done by the lovely Sharon, and she was giving me a shampoo and conditioning 1-on-1 tutorial! Did you know that all those products for ‘Aged’, ‘Old’ and ‘Mature’ hair aren’t for the aged, old and mature people. In fact they are designed for hair that is old. So just because you may be 100 years old, the hair on your head still grows, and seeing as most 100 year olds have short hair their hair is classed as new. It’s us youngsters with our long hair that actually need to use the products for mature hair.
I suppose it’s obvious when you think about it…I started growing my hair about 5 years ago so my split ends are basically hair that’s been dyed, styled, pulled and coiffed for all that time (no wonder I need an intensively moisturising product).

So leap into action with these fabulous products and rescue your hair. For me, after a few washes with Kerastase Resistance Age Recharge Shampoo and Masque my hair looked so much healthier.
Top 5 Strengthening and Protecting Haircare Products:
1. Kerastase Age Recharge Bain (250ml) £10.96
2. Korres Rice Proteins Serum (15ml) £13.71
3. Joico K-Pak Reconstructing Treatment (150ml) £14.95
4. Redken Extreme Triple Pack (Shampoo, Conditioner & Anti-Snap Treatment) £29.00
5. L’Oreal Professionnel Age Densiforce Shampoo (250ml) £7.86

Hi Gorgeous Girls,
Wow isn’t it beautiful outside? The snow sitting on the branches of the trees, kids building snowmen icicles hanging from your gutter…gorgeous! Although remember that such harsh weather plays havoc with your skin and hair, all that going from hot to cold can dry out your skin and cause your hair to static…so it has a life of it’s own! But it isn’t difficult to look fabulous no matter what the weather! Here are a couple of must-have products to get you thorough this nippy weather.
Skin:
Clarins HydraQuench Rich Cream (50ml) £26.40 – designed with colder climates in mind, this super-cream works to moisturise and refresh your skin in even the harshest weather conditions. Just use in replacement of your usual moisturiser, after cleansing on your face and neck, twice daily until your skin feels balanced and refreshed.
Alternatively if you’re looking for a credit-crunching cream then try Korres Thyme Honey Cream (40ml) £18.00 – Korres Thyme Honey Cream uses the hydrating qualities of honey to help your skin achieve a natural balance of moisture whilst providing intense nourishment and elasticity.
Hair:
Why not take advantage of our Tigi buy-one-get-one-free offer and buy the intensely nourishing Tigi Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey Treatment Shampoo (350ml) £8.75 – The ultimate comfort food for your hair when it just needs to take a break! Tigi Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey Treatment shampoo helps to repair chemically treated or damaged hair with vitamins A, B and E and added moisture. Hair is revitalized and healthy looking.
And finally make sure that you smooth out your hair with the super-star product of the moment from Kèrastase Nectar Thermique (150ml) £14.62 – Nectar Thermique is a nourishing treatment targeted to combat the appearance of dry hair and the problems associated with it…PLUS it actually reduces the drying time of your hair, leaving it super soft and shiny.

Hey Gorgeous Girls and Guys,
Has the party season started to take it’s toll on you yet? I’m forever trying to find those perfect post-party products that will help me to stop giving away the secret that I danced the whole night away and rolled into bed at 4am! Firstly there’s the bags and the black circles under my eyes, then the dehydrated skin that has that ever so slight grey/green tint to it (depending on how ‘Big’ the night was)!! There’s no need to panic though!
If you’re anything like me keeping up a regular skin routine at the best of times is difficult…who has time for regular exfoliating, cleansing, toning and moisturising after all? But my top tip to help prevent you looking like Frankinstein’s bride the day after is to take your make up the night before…believe me you and your skin will thank you when you wake-up. Keep it simple, quick and fuss-free with a cleansing wipe such as Korres Pomegranate Cleansing Wipes, simply sweep all over your face to remove make-up before crashing into bed.
The day after the night before, follow these three simple steps:
Cleanse: Remove all the nasty pollutants from the night before and rid your skin of any make-up you may have missed with Syence Active Cleansing Gel.
Target: Banish those bags and dark circles with Clarins Eye Revive Beauty Flash.
Moisturise: Take care of the rest of your face with a fab radiance boosting fluid like Decleor Source D’Eclat Radiance Moisturising Fluid.
And now for the finishing touches…make-up…see Laura’s wonderful Bare Escentuals post for perfecting your look.
