1. Pin your hair up leaving a lower section free. You will start underneath the hair and work your way to your parting.
2. Start by taking a small, fine section of hair about an inch wide
3. Apply a spritz of your preferred ghd protect spray into your hair.
4. Apply the ghd straightener as you normally would to straighten starting at the roots. When you want the curls to start twist the barrel of the iron 180° and gently pull through your hair down.
5. When you get to the end of your hair a curl should spring. Take the curl and wind it around your finger to finish.
6. Continue this method through all your hair.

- Use a damp, clean, soft cloth to remove any excess styling product.
- Under no circumstances should you use a scouring, or rough pad to clean the heating plates.
- Dry off plates after cleaning.

Q. How hot do the plates get?
Typically ghd hair straighteners heat up to around 180ºC, but this depends on your hair type and varies from person to person.
Q. Can I touch the plates to tell if they are hot?
No, the plates will heat up to approximately 180ºc and you will be burnt if you touch them when they are heating or hot. When heating you will notice a red LED light on the inside of the irons, this will flash and beep when the stylers have reached optimum temperature.

Q. Can anyone use ghd IV stylers?
All ghd electrical appliances are not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Q. Can I apply styling products to the irons before styling?
Never spray directly onto the styler, this may cause damage to the ceramic plates and to the electrical functions of the iron. Applying products directly to irons will void the warrenty of your styler.
Q. The power cord/plug is damaged. What do I do?
As an authorised ghd retailer, all ghd straighteners bought from gorgeousshop are accompanied by a two year manufacturer’s warrenty. You should always inspect your ghd IV styler before you use it. If the styler, power cord or plug are damaged, do not use the styler and call gorgeousshop customer services on 01442 866009.
Q. What general care should I take of my ghd hair straighteners?
For the long life of your ghd hair straighteners ensure that you follow these guidelines:

1. Always switch your styler off and unplug it after use.
2. Do not allow the hot plates to come into contact with textiles, plastic materials, or heat-sensitive surfaces.
3. Always ensure that the hot plates do not come into contact with the supply cord: this could melt away the insulation and put you at the risk of electrocution.
4. Never leave a hot styler unattended.
5. Always allow the plates to cool before packing or putting away for storage.
6. When the styler has cooled, fold the supply cord in the same way as it was first delivered in its packaging. Do not wind it around your hand or the body of the styler and your styler will deliver the results every time
7. When the styler is not in use, always lay it on a flat heat-resistant surface. Never hang the styler by its cable

Q. How do I use my ghd IV styler when on holiday outside the UK?
In countries where the two-pin Euro plug is standard, simply remove the securing screw between the three pins and slide the adaptor from the two-pin plug. It is recommended that you check the voltage available in your destination before you travel.
Q. What does universal voltage mean?
Your ghd styler operates at 110 or 230V (AC only). So quite simply the ghd styler will will work any where in the world and will automatically adjust to its new location.
