George Korres, pharmacist and founder of Korres Natural Products started working in the oldest homeopathic pharmacy in Athens in 1989, only to take it over in 1992. With a view to setting up his own Homeopathic laboratory on the premises, rather than importing the herbal remedies from abroad, George travelled around the world to learn from the most renowned chemists and homeopathists. It was then that chemical engineer Lena came on board to help create the new remedies, embarking on what was to become both a personal and professional partnership.

Korres aim is to utilize their extensive scientific resources for the creation of natural, efficacious and safe products, which are pleasing to all the senses while still being faithful to their natural ingredients. From their beginnings producing homeopathic remedies George Korres slowly began to extend the range to include homeopathy-compatible comestibles, a number of homeopathy-friendly medicinal and cosmetic preparations and finally a range of cosmetics. Today the company offers over 200 cosmetic products across a complete skin and haircare range, bodycare suncare products and colour cosmetics all based on the mild and gentle “long term” approach stemming from its homeopathic heritage.

Korres continuously develop products using technology and research in more environmentally-friendly and skin-compatible ways. Following intensive and concentrated efforts Korres manage to fully avoid the use of specific synthetic compounds, such as petroleum derivatives (mineral oil), silicones (synthetic non biodegradable compounds), propylene glycol (extraction solvent linked to a number of allergies), and ammonia (common ingredient in hair colorants). Instead, all products have been enriched with active plant extracts of maximum effectiveness.

Korres natural products are based on 5 principles:

Korres do not believe in promising miracle cures, but prefer to concentrate on producing just good quality, skin-compatible and efficacious products that are as natural as the bounds of safety will permit. Korres say this because ‘Natural’ does not equal ‘good’ or ‘safe’. Toxins and irritants exist in nature as well as in the realm of synthetically produced chemical ingredients. Through the extensive research and careful selection of the Korres R&D team, Korres can actively avoid the use of harmful chemical ingredients and replace them with combinations of natural alternatives.

Korres create products based on four natural ingredients

1. Medicinal herbs known for their pharmaceutical use, such as aloe vera, hypericum, evening primrose.
2. Greek flora herbs, such as Mastiha and Thyme.
3. Food ingredients incorporated , such as Yogurt, Thyme-honey.
4. High- efficacy naturals like the watermelon DNA-protective bio extract
